These Mozzarella filled cheese balls can be called a perfect starter though they are high in carbohydrates fats but worth to cheat for once in a while.

Ingredients :- ( Serves 11 )

  • 1/2 cup Carrot / Gajjar
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen Peas
  • 1 big Onion
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli paste or as per taste
  • 2 Any Bread slices
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin / Zeera
  • 1 tsp Garlic paste / Lasan
  • 1 tsp Chaat masala
  • 3 boiled Potatoes / Aloo
  • 4 tbsp Corn flour or Corn starch
  • 4 tbsp Refined flour / Maida
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp Chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper / Kali mirch
  • 100 gm Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Bread crumb
  • Oil for frying

Method:-

  1. In your mixer grinder or food processor add Carrot,Peas,Onion & Salt.
  2. We get a veg keema to this add mashed bread slices with edges cut out,Chilli paste,Cumin seeds,Garlic paste,Chaat masala and boiled Potatoes.
  3. Mix and mash all ingredients to form a dough.
  4. Now keep the dough aside for a while and make a batter by mixing Corn starch,Refined flour,Chilli flakes,Pepper and Salt using 1/2 cup Water.
  5. Now pinch out small lemon size portion of the dough,flatten it over your palm,place a small piece of mozzarella cheese over it,close and roll into a ball.
  6. Dip the made ball in the batter and then coat it with Bread crumbs to make it crispy.
  7. Drop these Cheese balls in hot Oil and fry them over low to medium heat in between flipping upside down until crispy and golden brown.
  8. Strain out and serve hot with red or green chutney.

Tips :-

  • Grate Potatoes instead of mashing them to get a smooth lump free dough.
  • The batter should be neither too thick or too thin.
  • Instead of Bread crumb you can even use rice flakes.
  • You can even bake these Cheese balls instead of frying.
