Make Shahi Paneer in a simple way using ingredients that are not fancy but easily available in your kitchen to get a super delicious Paneer curry.
Ingredients:-
GRINDED MASALA
- 2 tbsp Oil / Tel
- 2 one inch Cinnamon sticks / Dalchini
- 1 Black cardamom / Badi elachi
- 3-4 Cloves / Loung
- 1 tsp Cumin / Zeera
- 2 medium Onions / Pyaz
- 1 tsp Ginger paste / Adrakh or chopped 1 inch piece
- 8-9 Garlic cloves / Lasan
- 2-4 Green chilli / Hari mirch
- 2 medium Tomato / Tamatar
- 1 tsp Salt / Namak
OIL for frying
- 499 gm Cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup Peas / Matar
FOR GRAVY
- 1-2 tbsp Oil / Tel
- 1-1/2 tsp Kashmiri red Chilli powder / Lal mirch
- 2 Bayleaves / Tej patta
- 1 tsp Turmeric / Haldi
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- 1/2 tsp roasted Zeera powder
- 1/2 tsp Fennel seed powder / Saunf
- 1/2 tsp Coriander powder / Dhaniya
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder / Dalchini
- 1/2 tsp green Cardamom powder / Hari elachi
- Salt to taste / Namak swad anusar
- 1 tbsp Dry Fenugreek leaves / Kasoori methi
- 2 tbsp Curd / Dahi
Method:-
- In hot Oil add Cinnamon,Black Cardamom pod,Cumin and Cloves.
- Let the Cumin crackle few seconds over low and then add roughly chopped Onion.
- Sauté Onion till translucent.Next add Ginger,Garlic,Chilli and Salt.
- Now keep on sauting till Onions turn golden.
- Add Tomatoes.Keep on cooking till Tomatoes get soft and dry,they will also turn darker.
- Put off stove and grind the made masala into a smooth paste.
- Fry Paneer pieces till golden and Matar for a minute.
- To make gravy In hot Oil keeping heat low quickly add all the listed spices and roast for a minute.
- Add the made paste and roast for another minute.
- Drop 4 cups of Water let it come to boil and then add fried Matar,Paneer and curd.Add Salt if required.
- Put of the lid and let it cook over low for 5 about minutes.
- Serve with Roti or Rice.
