Shrikhand a popular at same time traditional sweet dessert from Maharashtra and Gujarat can be made in different flavours.This sweet creamy yogurt recipe can be called mishti doi of western India.We are making it here using mango.
Ingredients 🙁 Serves 4 )
- 2 +1/2 cup Curd
- 1 medium Mango
- 2 tbsp powdered Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Green Cardamom powder / Elachi
- 1 tbsp Almond / Badam
- 1 tbsp Raisins / Kishmish
- 1 tbsp Cashews / Kaju
Method:-
- To make hung curd also known as Greek yogurt drop curd over a thin cotton or muslin cloth.
- Tie and keep the sack over a sieve or hang it upon a tap to let whey water drop off slowly.
- After 24 hours you will get your thick hung curd.
- Beat the curd manually with a spoon until smooth.
- Now make purée using Mango pulp.
- Mix this made purée with curd along with Sugar,Cardamom and Dry fruits.
- Serve chilled garnished with remaining dry fruits.
Tips :-
- Don’t squeeze to take out whey ,let it drop itself.
- You can use whey in any other recipe as it’s rich in protein.
- Curd without whey does not contain lactose and has less carbohydrates if specially using low fat milk.
- Add sugar according to sweetness of your fruit.
