Pyaz samosa that are Onion samosa are popular street food sold along Aloo samosa.They are served with tamarind chutney.
Ingredients:- ( serve 9 )
DOUGH
- 1 cup Refined flour / Maida
- 2 tbsp Oil ; Tel
- 1/4 tsp Salt / Namak
- 1/4 cup Water / Pani
FILLING
- 1+1/2 cup Onion / Pyaz
- Salt to taste / Namak swad Anushree
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1/2 tsp Cumin / Zeera
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric / Haldi
- 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- 1/2 tsp chilli paste / Hari mirch paste
- 3/4 tsp Coriander powder / Dhaniya
- 1/2 tsp Chaat masala
PASTE
- 1 tsp Refined flour / Maida
- Little Water / Pani
Method :-
- Add Salt and Oil in the flour and then thoroughly rubbing between fingers make a flaky flour.
- Next dropping Water gradually make a stiff dough.
- Apple little Oil over the dough to keep it moist and then keep it to rest covered for 15-20 minutes.
- Meanwhile heat Oil and add Cumin .Let it crackle over low for few seconds.
- Now drop in finely chopped Onions.Saute Onions over medium till they shrink or rawness goes off.
- In between add in all the other ingredients mentioned for the filling.Within just 3-4 minutes filling gets ready.
- Divide dough into four parts.Roll out sheets neither too thick or too thin.
- Drop a made sheet over a hot Griddle ( Tawa ) and roast on each side not more than 2-3 seconds on low.
- Cut sheets in symmetry and then cut out Samosa Patti.
- Make a samosa cone out of the sheet and stuff in the filling.
- Seal the samosa using a paste made by flour mixed with little Water.
- Fry the made Samioas in medium hot Oil over medium heat till crispy and golden brown.
Tips :-
- Over roasting might make the sheets brittle.
- You can fry or roll out again extra cut out sheets.
- To serve samosas more crispy flash fry before serving.
