Spicy Karnataka snack Nippattu.its a very tasty snack that can be stored for several weeks.
Ingredients:- ( Serve 16 )
- 1 cup Rice flour / Chawal ka atta
- 3 tbsp roasted Peanut / Mongfali
- 1/4 cup Roasted Split Bengal Gram / Channa dal
- 1 tbsp Dry Coconut / Sukha nariyal
- 1 tbsp Sesame seeds / Safad til
- 1/2 tsp Cumin / Zeera
- 1 tbsp Semolina / Sooji
- 1/4 cup Refined flour / Maida
- 1 pinch Asafoetida / Hing
- 3/4 tsp Red chilli powder / Lal mirch
- Salt to taste / Namak
- Handful Curry leaves / Kadi patta
- 2 tbsp Oil / Tel
- Oil to fry
- About 1/4 cup Water / Pani
Method:-
- To a mixer grinder add Peanuts, Split gram,Coconut, Sesame seeds and Cumin to make a masala mix.
- In a bowl mix together Rice flour, made Masala,Refined flour,Asafoetida,Chilli powder,Salt, chopped Curry leaves and warm Oil.
- Now adding Water little at a time make a stiff dough.
- Divide dough into 3-4 equal portions to roll out into a 1/2 inch thick sheet.
- Cut out into round portions using a cookie cutter or small bowl.pierce the pieces to avoid puffing in Oil.
- Fry in hot Oil till crisp golden brown.
- Strain out cool and you can even store It airtight.
