For your this season Upvas / Vrat do fry out these Jimikand / Kandmool Yam yummy patties.

Ingredients:-  ( Serve 16 )

SHRED OR GRATE THESE TOGETHER

  • 250 gm Elephant foot yam / Jimikand / Kandmool
  • 1 Potato / Aloo
  • 1 inch Ginger / Adrakh

2 CUPS SHREDDED MIX

  • Salt to taste / Namak swad anusar
  • 1 tsp Chilli paste / Hari mirch
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder / Kuti Lal Mirch
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder / Zeera
  • 1/2 tsp Mango powder / Aamchur
  • 2 tbsp Chestnut flour / Singhare ka atta
  • Oil for frying

Method:-

  1. Clean out the dark brown portion of Yam and grate it along with ginger and potato.
  2. Take 2 cups of this grated mix and to this we will add in salt, chilli powder, chilli paste, chaat masala, cumin powder and mango powder.
  3. Now gradually add in chestnut flour to make a bindable consistency.
  4. Make small round flat patties and keep it over a greased plate.
  5. Fry in hot oil over medium flipping in between till crisp and then strain it out.
  6. keep fried patties over a sieve for some time before serving.,
  7. If you are serving for fasting serve with curd.

Tips :-

  • If feeling sticky while making the patties you can apply a little bit of oil over your palm.
  • Let the patties get fried 2-3 minutes and then flip them carefully because they are soft initially.
  • You can even shallow fry these jimekand patties.
