Oat Pancakes are healthy and tasty treat for your daily breakfast or tiffin for children.

Ingredients:-

FOR FILLING

  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Nigella seeds / Kalonji
  • 2 Medium Onion
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic & Ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli paste
  • 1 tbsp grated Carrot
  • 1 tbsp grated Capsicum / Shimla mirch
  • 1 tbsp grated Peas
  • 1 tbsp Parsley
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Tomato purée or finely chopped Tomatoes

FOR BATTER

  • 1+1/2 cup Oats
  • 1/2 cup Refined flour / Maida or Wheat flour / Atta
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • Water
  • Oil

Method:-

  1. Heat Oil in a pan and then add Kalonji, let it to crackle.
  2. Then drop chopped Onions ,sauté till translucent.
  3. Then add chilli,Garlic & Ginger paste.saute it again for another minute.
  4. Add grated Carrot,sauté it for couple of minutes.
  5. Now add grated Capsicum,Peas,Parsley,Salt and Pepper.Saute for 5 -7 minutes on medium heat.
  6. Next add Tomatoes and sauté the veggies till the water completely dries.
  7. To prepare the Pancakes we need to make a batter by mixing Oat,Flour,Salt,Red chilli and the made veg filling.along with Water to make a thick batter.
  8. Over a non stick griddle / tawa add a teaspoon of Oil and when it’s really hot drop a tablespoon full of batter over it.
  9. Spread the batter accordingly to how much thick or thin Pancakes you want to make.
  10. Roast them on one side for 2-3 minutes and then flip it to cook on other side till its done.
  11. Serve hot in breakfast or for tiffin.

Tips:-

  • You can make and cold store the veg mix in advance for couple of days.
