Mumbai masala pav is a popular street food of Bombay now known as Mumbai.its filled with loads of Butter and Cheese with a yummy taste.Make it as a quick evening snack and your kids will love it.It can be to some extent called as a Instant Pav Bhaji,So come letā€™s begin.

Ingredients:- ( Serves 8 )

BHAJI

  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin / Zeera
  • 1 cup chopped Onion / Pyaz
  • 1 tsp Garlic paste / Lasan
  • 1/2 cup Beans
  • 1 cup chopped Tomato / Tamatar
  • Salt o taste / Namak swag anusar
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli paste / Hari mirch
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder / Lal mirch
  • 150 gm Cottage cheese / Paneer
  • 2 tsp Coriander chutney
  • 1/2 Lemon / Nimbhu
  • 1 tsp Chaat masala
  • 1 tsp Pav bhaji masala

PAV

  • Some Butter
  • Some or 1/4 tsp or Pav bhaji masala
  • Some cheese

Method :-

  1. Heat Oil and Butter together add Cumin and let it to crackle over low few seconds.
  2. Then add chopped Onion sautƩ over medium to high till Onions turn translucent.
  3. Add Garlic paste and Chilli paste,sautƩ over low-medium just for a minute and then keeping heat low add chilli powder.
  4. Now drop in Beans and keep on cooking till Beans get tender over medium heat adding Salt.
  5. Now add Paneer and keep on stirring till the masala and Paneer incorporates.
  6. Add finely chopped Tomatoes,keep stirring and cooking over medium-high till Tomatoes are fully cooked.
  7. Add Coriander chutney and lemon juice and mix.
  8. We are cooking since 8-10 minutes and the Bhaji is almost ready,itā€™s neither too dry nor too wet in texture.
  9. Drop Chaat masala and Pav Bhaji masala.Mix and cook for anotherā€™s couple of minutes over low and this Bhaji is ready.
  10. Over a open pan or Tawa ( Griddle ) drop 1-2 teaspoons of salted Butter and sprinkle some Pav Bhaji masala over it.
  11. Cut the Buns in between and toast on both sides in this masala butter over low till crisp and golden.
  12. Layer the Bun with made Bhaji and sprinkled with some cheese.Close and again toast for some time or until cheese melts.
  13. Serve with some Salad and Sev.

Tips :

  • You can use your choice of vegetable combination to make the Bhaji.
  • Adding Salt while sauting the veggies helps them cook faster.
  • If you donā€™t have Pav Bhaji masala add Garam masala but the taste will definitely differ.
