This is a basic puff pastry sheet made with a easy to make dough.These puff pastry sheets are used to make several savoury or sweet bakery recipes like veg or non veg puffs,biscuits and cream roll.
Ingredients :–Â
- 3 cup Refined flour / Maida
- 5 tbsp salted Butter
- 200 gm Salted Butter for layers
- Chilled Water
Method:-
- Combine 5 tablespoons of Butter in flour until flaky.
- Knead the flour using chilled Water as much required.
- keep on kneading and punching for 5-7 minutes until soft.
- Keep wrapped with plastic wrap for 8 hours or overnight in fridge.
- Roll out into 1/2 inch thick sheet apply about 2 tablespoons of butter leaving sides.
- Fold and again roll it out and then again fold.
- Now wrap in plastic wrap,refrigerate for an hour.
- Repeat step 5 to 7 at least six times.
- Use this bakery sheet as it is for making any bakery.
Tips :-
- When you use salted butter then there is no need to add Salt to the flour.
- Try to make puff pastry sheets in winter because the butter melts lessand does not easily ooze out from sides.
- More you fold more layers you get.
- You can keep this puff pastry sheet stored in a zip lock bag for about a month in freezer.
